Jen is the Co-Founder and Psychotherapist at D3 Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is a trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity-affirming psychotherapist, passionate about creating a welcoming environment for queer, transgender, non-binary, and neurodivergent individuals. Jen is a pre-accredited integrative psychotherapist and a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). She offers a warm, non-judgmental, and supportive space for healing, self-discovery, and personal growth.Â
Jen works with adults, adolescents (aged 12+), and offers relationship counselling, including support for non-traditional relationships. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Certificate in Psychology, a Certificate in Relationship Therapy, and a Certificate in Integrative Adolescent Psychotherapy. She is also trained in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and has completed a Professional Certificate in Group Facilitation.
Jen’s pluralistic, client-centred approach draws on a range of therapies, including person-centred, psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Schema Therapy, somatic approaches, Choice Theory / Reality Therapy, and psychoeducation to help clients gain insight and feel empowered in their healing journey. She is a member of the William Glasser Institute, having completed basic intensive training in Choice Theory. Her trauma training includes Peter Levine’s Trauma Masterclass and Somatic Experiencing® in Action.
Jen is sex-positive and kink-allied, and brings a non-pathologising lens to her work with compulsive sexual behaviour, hypersexuality, infidelity, and relationship repair. She has completed specialist training in working with survivors of child sexual abuse (CSA) and is currently undertaking a Professional Certificate with One in Four, specialising in complex trauma and CSA.
Her work is shaped by an awareness of how social constructs, such as gender norms, heteronormativity, and ableism, impact identity and wellbeing. Jen supports clients in reconnecting with their authentic selves beneath the messages they may have internalised from society. She brings a strengths-based, affirming approach to working with autism, ADHD, and AuDHD, and also offers support for anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, family estrangement, and inner child healing.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Jen worked for many years as a veterinary nurse in animal welfare, and this continues to inspire her compassionate, client-centred work today. She offers in-person and online therapy, with a free 30-minute consultation to ensure a good fit before beginning therapy.
