At D3 Counselling & Psychotherapy, we provide a warm, compassionate, and developmentally sensitive space for children and adolescents to explore their feelings, make sense of their experiences, and build emotional resilience. We understand how overwhelming it can be as a parent or caregiver to see your child struggle — whether that’s with anxiety, low mood, emotional outbursts, difficulties with friendships, school refusal, or simply feeling lost or misunderstood.
Our therapists are trained in working with children as young as 6, right through to adolescence and early adulthood. We welcome young clients who may be navigating neurodivergence, including ADHD or autism (diagnosed or self-identified), or who may be coping with challenges like low self-esteem, grief, family changes, or the impact of trauma.
We draw from a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to the individual needs of each child or teen. This includes play therapy, creative and expressive arts, sandtray work, and embodiment practices — recognising that young people often express what they feel through play and creativity, especially when words are hard to find. We also integrate cognitive-behavioural techniques to help young clients understand and manage anxious thoughts, worries, and unhelpful patterns, in ways that are age-appropriate and engaging.
Our therapists are trained in child and adolescent development, attachment theory, and trauma-informed practice, with a deep understanding of how early experiences and relationships shape wellbeing. We work collaboratively not just with the young person, but where appropriate, with parents and caregivers — offering guidance on how best to support your child outside of sessions, while always keeping the young person’s voice at the centre of the work.
No matter where your child or teen is on their journey, our aim is to provide a safe, supportive environment where they can process challenges, build confidence, and move towards greater emotional wellbeing.
