Frequently asked questions

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process designed to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a way that promotes healing and growth. It offers a safe and supportive space where you can explore a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and more.

We use a variety of approaches, such as behavioural therapy, person-centered therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, to ensure the therapy is tailored to what you need.

Above all, the most important part of therapy is the relationship you build with your therapist. A trusting, supportive connection allows you to feel truly heard and understood. This strong therapeutic bond creates the foundation for positive change, empowering you to face difficult feelings and take meaningful steps toward a happier, healthier life.

How many sessions will I need?

Every person’s journey is unique, so there’s no one-size-fits-all answer to how many sessions you might need. Whether you're looking for short-term support or want to explore things more deeply over time, we’ll work together to figure out what feels right for you.

During our first session, we’ll talk about your goals and what you're hoping to achieve, then plan the best approach. As we progress, we’ll regularly check in to make sure you’re feeling supported and adjust our approach to match your evolving needs.

Your comfort and progress are our priority—every step of the way.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, your therapy sessions are completely confidential, and we take your privacy seriously. Your personal information is protected in line with GDPR regulations to ensure that your data is secure.

There are a few rare situations where confidentiality may be broken, but these are very specific, like if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if there are concerns around child protection. We’ll discuss these exceptions openly in our first session, and they will also be clearly outlined in your therapy contract, so you know exactly what to expect.

Your trust is important to us, and we’re committed to maintaining a safe, respectful space for you throughout our work together.

How often will I attend sessions?

Therapy sessions are usually held once a week. Regular sessions help us build a strong, supportive relationship, making it easier to dive into your concerns and make progress toward your goals. The consistency creates a sense of momentum, helping you better understand your experiences and move forward.

That being said, everyone's journey is different, and we can adjust the schedule to suit your needs. Some clients prefer to meet every two weeks, especially as they begin to feel more confident in their progress. We’ll discuss what works best for you and tailor the schedule to make sure you’re getting the most out of our time together.

How much does it cost?

Our standard fee for individual sessions is €70. However, we believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone, no matter their financial situation. To make therapy more affordable, we offer a sliding scale for those facing financial challenges.

If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to discuss your situation and work together to find a fee that feels fair and manageable for you. Our priority is to provide the support you need in a way that’s compassionate and accessible.

'Trauma is not what happens to you.

Trauma is what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you.'
